55 countries of the world can enter the territory of the Russian Federation now. This is possible with an e-visa. The document can be obtained on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. It is enough to simply print out the received permission. The deadline for receiving it is no more than 4 days, personal presence is optional.
The introduction of electronic visas was planned in 2021, but COVID-19 stopped the process.
With the help of an e-visa, foreigners can visit Russia for medical (including doctor’s consultation, checkup, treatment), tourist, guest purposes, participate in socio-political, economic, scientific, sports and cultural events. The purpose of the trip may also be a business visit. The visa allows you to stay in the country for 16 days (two of which are reserved for entry and exit) and is valid for 60 days from the date of receiving.
Foreign citizens must have a medical insurance policy valid on the territory of the Russian Federation. The validity period of the visa is enough to receive some of medical services: hardware and laboratory diagnostics, dental treatment, laser vision correction, cosmetic procedures. For long-term therapy, it is better to get a standard visa of the “Treatment” category.
According to the MFA Russia, the cost of a visa does not exceed $52, and it will cost $2 for children under 6 years old. The website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a step-by-step instruction on visa processing.
The list of countries with access to the Russian Federation includes Austria, Andorra, Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Sweden, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, China (including Taiwan), Vietnam, Japan, North Korea, India, Latvia, Lithuania, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Singapore and other countries.
The Russian government has decided to keep all the countries of the European Union on the list. “European citizens who are friendly towards Russia should have the opportunity to visit our wonderful country and enjoy Russian hospitality,” said Alexey Klimov, head of the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
